Dedicated descriptions

FOR THE CHILDREN

A visit itinerary that also involves the little ones

In the Museum and on the Piano Nobile, among the rich rooms of the Palazzo, children will find panels dedicated to them with descriptions of the rooms and the works that surround them.

These are simple and immediate texts that, like a story, allow them to appreciate the art and the history behind it in an engaging manner.

Workshops

FOR SCHOOLS

Organised visits to teach among the frescoes of the Piano Nobile.

Palazzo dei Priori in Viterbo is the symbolic monument of the city’s civic power and can be visited on its Piano Nobile, its main floor. To help younger visitors discover the secrets of the Palazzo, we offer a story-tour followed by an educational activity focused on Sala Regia. The latter is one of the most important and decorated rooms of Palazzo dei Priori. The frescoes covering the walls of the Sala are astonishing in their beauty and narrate the mythological origins of the city.

Children will be guided in the discovering of the myths that Friar Annius of Viterbo invented to provide importance and value to his hometown. Then, taking inspiration from these historical forgeries reported in the frescoes, they too – like Annius – will have the opportunity to invent imaginary stories about the origins of Viterbo. Finally, “armed” with pencils and markers, they will be able to represent their own very personal story in visual form.
